Treatment with Julia: 60 Minutes, $95 + hst
Julia Manuel, RMT - Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in 2017 Julia graduated from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and Teaching Clinic in Toronto, ON. This is her second career after performing professionally as an actor-singer-dancer in countless musical theatre productions throughout the Atlantic provinces.
Julia believes in meeting people where they are at in their present journey. As a Massage Therapist she approaches clients with a listening ear, compassion and non-judgement. She works together with clients to create a treatment plan that best supports their vision of health, that promotes a greater sense of their overall well being. She uses a variety of modalities to help achieve these goals such as Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, myofascial release, joint mobilizations; is able to provide strong, deeper pressure to a more gentle, soothing one; and will offer clients ways to continue their self-care at home should they so desire to. Her experience includes treating teenagers to seniors, pre and post-natal clients, those who live with MS, cancer, CP, depression/anxiety, desk workers, those in highly physical jobs, people in palliative care.
She feels very lucky to have learned from and spent the last few years honing her skills under the kind mentorship of the multi-faceted Sue Sheedy RMT, R.TCMP, R.Ac. at Toronto Bodyworks in downtown Toronto. She is grateful and honoured to be a Massage Therapist and looks forward to caring for the many people she will meet as this new adventure of practicing in the Annapolis Valley unfolds.
Julia is a member in good standing with the Massage Therapists' Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS) and holds a current certificate in Emergency First Aid CPR Level A from St. John Ambulance.
When not treating at the clinic, Julia loves spending time with her husband and 12 year old daughter, playing guitar, reading a darn good book and hanging out with her dear friends.
